Created around the rehearsals for his 1992 Dangerous World Tour, the production goes beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star, providing a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson to legendary status.

The show opens in rehearsals with Michael, played by Myles Frost, recollecting his childhood for a female journalist and camera man who are making a documentary of his life.

As Michael tells his story, with scenes retracing his earlier life to when he was very young and sang in church to the formation, with his older brothers, of The Jackson Five. It shows how he was pushed mercifully by their father who wanted them to be successful but in so doing was also abusive. Michael wants to break away and develop his own style. Eventually, he does, leaving his family to branch out on his own.

Underlying all this is the extreme racism of that time where black American people were second class citizens. Despite being famous, he had to endure it, and the production portrays how it personally affected Jackson.

Myles Frost originated the role of Michael Jackson in New York for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Not only is the singing fabulous but also the choreography that made Michael Jackson, the international star that he was.
